Doctors specializing in anesthesiology and intensive care participated in a new edition of the CEEA course

Anesthesiology and intensive care specialists participated in a new edition of the CEEA (Committee for European Education in Anaesthesiology) Course – Module 3: Intensive Care, Emergency Medicine, Blood Products and Transfusions. The event was organized on June 20 and 21, 2025 by the Society of Anesthesiology and Resuscitation of the Republic of Moldova, in partnership with Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy and the Oncology Institute, under the aegis of the Committee for European Education in Anaesthesiology (CEEA).
The event brought together specialists from the Republic of Moldova and Romania and included an intense program of presentations, practical workshops and exchange of experience, all dedicated to improving medical care in the field of AIC.
The inauguration was also attended by the Rector of Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Professor Emil Ceban, who addressed a message to the young specialists: "Thanks to this course, you are among the first to align yourself with European standards, which is an important step, especially in the context of our country's European aspirations." Professor Ceban also emphasized the importance of including the CEEA exam in postgraduate curricula, which allows the training of specialists in Anesthesia and Intensive Care in our country to fully comply with European rigors and standards.
Associate Professor Svetlana Plamadeala, moderator of the event, has highlighted that our country's experience in attending these courses is gratifying, which "encourages us to continue organizing them, because we observe the participants' desire for continuous professional training and openness to new developments in the field," the associate professor pointed out.
Present at the event, Professor Ioana Grigoras from Grigore T. Popa University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Iasi, Romania, Head of the Anesthesia and Intensive Care Unit at the Regional Institute of Oncology, Doctor Honoris Causa of Nicolae Testemitanu University, has noted that the community of anesthesiologists in the Republic of Moldova is relatively small compared to those in other European countries. Moreover, each time she noticed how much they appreciated the quality of the professional act. "This course format is extremely valuable, because it manages to provide a structured and in-depth recapitulation of the entire anesthesia and intensive care curriculum, thus supporting the process of knowledge consolidation and continuing education of specialists in the field", the Romanian professor pointed out.
The current edition of the CEEA Course was attended by over 100 participants.
